‘Must do’s’ at Animal Kingdom

As villa owners our guests often ask us what are the ‘must do’ attractions at each of the parks. Obviously this does depend on the age and make up of your party however these are our ‘must do’ rides and attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Kilimanjaro Safari
Climb aboard your open-air safari jeep for a ride around the savannah. We’ve seen so many different animals it’s better than being in Africa! Look out for lions, giraffes, elephants, hippos and rhinos to name just a few, and in true Disney style there are a few ‘surprises’ as you travel around! Don’t whatever you do forget to take a camera on this ride; we have some amazing photos from when we went on Safari!
We always head to this ride as soon as we enter the park as we were told that the animals are more active earlier in the day, I don’t know if this is true but we’ve never been disappointed.

Kali River Rapids
One of, if not the best water ride in any Florida park.
It is possible to go on this ride and come off dry but more often than not we’ve got off looking like we just jumped in a swimming pool with all our clothes on!

Dinosaur
Jump into your time travelling car and go back 65 million years to complete your mission of rescuing a stray dinosaur!
This is quite a bumpy ride especially if you sit in the back row.

Primeval Whirl
Imagine a cross between a roller coaster and one of the waltzer rides that they have in a fairground and you’ll get the idea of what this rides all about!

It’s Tough To Be A Bug
This is definitely one of our family’s favourite Disney attractions. You queue for the ride through the roots of the amazing Tree of Life and can’t help but wonder at the fantastic carvings of all the animals.
Then it’s into the theatre where you don your ‘Bug Eye Glasses’ for another of the fantastic 3D shows and a few little Disney extras!

Festival of the Lion King
This is a very cleverly staged in-the-round production lasting about 30 minutes, it features all your favourite Lion King characters with extravagant costumes and wonderful music; it will have you singing along in no time.

Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade
Over 60 cast members are in this musical street parade, the last time we went we had my baby niece with us, she was only 9 months old but was virtually climbing out of her stroller as she desperately wanted to join in!
