Dr Seuss High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train RideFlorida Guide > Universal Parks But it is certainly worth waiting for, as it offers a three minute ride over and around several other attractions, giving guests an amazing bird’s eye view of the park. There are two separate 1, 500 ft tracks, which skirt round the lake and go through Circus McGurkus Café Stoo-pendous. It is a gentle ride, and one which takes you on a journey 20 ft above Seuss Landing, and each of the two tracks offers different vistas, as you travel in different directions. It is both colourful and whimsical, and it certainly brings the children’s stories to life. If your children (or even you! ) enjoyed the Dr Seuss books, then they will love this ride, which was once to be called ‘Sylvester McMonkey McBean’s Very Unusual Driving Machines’ – now there’s a mouthful! Thank goodness they managed to overcome the safety and technical problems, although it did mean a new design with different stories and a new name, meaning that much of it had to be rebuilt. The original idea was for individual cars which could be partially controlled by the riders, but that was eventually changed to trains. For safety, they installed several elevated platforms at various points around the track to make it easy to evacuate guests, should it become necessary. New Seuss scenes from the stories were added on the rooftops, and there are also hidden locations. Audio has been added which is piped directly to the riders. When we went there were long lines waiting to experience this ride, so it is obviously popular with adults and children, who will both enjoy seeing scenes from the books. It is also great fun to ride through the restaurant and a great opportunity to wave at the diners within. The ride also offers amazing views of the park so plenty of photo opportunities. There are height restrictions and children must be over 34”. Those who are between 34” and 48” must be accompanied by an adult – but I am sure that no adult will need much persuading to accompany a child!
