Manny’s Original Chophouse
If you would like a meal with a difference – one from an original diner rather than one from one of the popular chain restaurants, try Manny’s Chophouse on the 27 at Haines City. Renown for its wonderful steaks and house salad its reputation keeps growing!
The interior is designed in typical diner style – casual with friendly service. The walls are full of memorabilia and the atmosphere very lively but for us these all add to our dining experience and the food is just so tasty and speaks for itself!
To start there is the Jumbo Onion Ring - it reminds me of one of those baby toys where you put rings on in order of circumference size …. This starter is very similar in size to one of those toys and can feed quite a few! There are Buffalo wings, shrimp, various potato starters from baked potato to fries as well as Mexican such as Quesadillas and soups. Make sure you leave room for the main course…. .
The comes the famous Manny’s bottomless salad bowl with Ranch dressing followed by the main course – chicken – rotisserie, with mushrooms, Teriyaki, breast tenders…. Or choose fish. All main courses come with a choice of potato, fresh vegetables, rice or sweet yeast rolls.
But my favourite has to be a choice of steak, cooked perfectly to your request. Super top, filet mignon, sirloin, rib eye, T bone ribs, chops, rib of beef … my mouth is watering not only of the choice but the memories of how my sirloin tasted! !
If combos (combinations) are your choice these can also be ordered, for example chicken and ribs on the same plate. And if you want something lighter choose from the menu of burgers and sandwiches – I particularly like the grouper sandwich if I’m in a rush.
The desert menu is not huge – ice cream, pies such as key lime, peanut butter and cheesecakes…. but I have never made it to one! Perhaps I am not alone! I am told the key lime pie is tasty!
There are lots of specials helping to make this restaurant/diner so hugely popular. If you like fajitas visit on a Wednesday and buy one get one free. Happy hour is 4pm – 7pm for draft beer and on Monday and Wednesday you can get up to 2 kids meals free when ordering dinner entrees.
Manny’s does not take bookings but ring ahead to let them know you are coming and they will gladly put you on the waiting list. If you wish you can order to go (take away to Brits! ).Page added on: 13 March 2008
