Sharks Underwater Grill at Seaworld
Sharks Underwater Grill at Sea World is full-service restaurant where youliterally dine underwater amongst sharks and other sea life – a different andenjoyable dining experience. Located at the park's Shark Encounter attraction it has a "Floridean-style"menu that blends Caribbean and Floridian food. The viewing window arefloor-to-ceiling windows so you can watch about 50 various types of sharksincluding sand tigers, sandbars, black noses and Atlantic black tips (guess wholistened to the waitress that provided lots of educational info about the sharksand other fish in the tank). Take a look at the bar on the way in. The surfaceof the bar top is a series of mini aquariums! If you do not wish to dine, thereis a small viewing gallery to see all the sharks and fish and this alone is wellworth a visit. It is a spacious, well air-conditioned restaurant seating up to 240 guestsand the waitress service makes a pleasant change from the “all you can eatbuffets” that we all tend to go to whilst in Orlando. If it is hot day, therestaurant is a “cool break” and although dimly lit (I guess maximum effect forthe shark viewing) individual table lighting means you can still see your meal. All the tables are situated alongside or close to a floor or ceiling. No tableis further than 5 yards away from the sharks!! Which can be a little offputting, if you order the shark to eat……but do as it is wonderful. The adult menu is good and portions plentiful. Any additional items such asmash or fries can be added, although this was not obvious from the menu. Thefood is very well presented and of good quality. The kid’s menu is standard US fare – chicken strippers etc. The great fun isthat part of the kids meal is served in a shark’s head! Plastic of course andthis can be kept by the children at the end of the meal – we used our as canholders! It is quite pricey but everyone enjoyed their meal (see the menu below – notsure if prices still as they were) and don’t forget an “after dinner drink” – itis essential! Either ring for priority seating by calling (407) 351-3600 or you can do aswe did visit the host stand at the restaurant early in the day to make areservation for later.
