Blizzard Beach Water ParkFlorida Guide > Disney General Being a non swimmer I had never fancied this place but visited as part of a family trip so I begrudgingly agreed to give it a go and off we went and I was planning a day of sunbathing and duty photographer duties. Well I have to say it was amazing and not anything like I suspected! There are lots of rides with names such as Mount Gush more, Team boat springs, Summit Plummet, Slush Gusher, Melt Away Bay, and Cross Country Creek. There is also a ski patrol training camp for teens. There is also Tike's Peak for younger members of the family, so everyone is catered for really. Mount Gush more is amazing with a waterborne slalom; water-sled runs, an 8 lane toboggan run and even a chair lift with skis and sun brollies! Team boat springs claims to be the world's longest family white-water ride, (Not sure about this useless fact perhaps in the Disney Empire maybe, I a sure extreme sportsmen and woman would dispute this claim)! Summit plummet looks really scary, it is 120 feet in height and apparently a 60 mph down the speed slide, if the thought of this fills you with dread, as it did some of our party you can opt for the slightly softer, slower and shorter version of Slush Gusher! Cross Country Creek is not as physical as it sounds and is actually a route around the whole water park but don't worry no running is involved as you float round the park peacefully in inner tubes! Watch out for the cave though! Melt Away Bay is a large (acre) wave pool; it is at the bottom of Mount Gush more and has waterfalls which are of course the melting snow from the mountain! Sunscreen is an absolute must for a day at Blizzard Beach Water park as you are enjoying yourself so much and in and out of the water that you can burn easily as you are having so much fun you don't notice.
