Character Breakfast at Chef Mickey’s

Located in Disney’s Contemporary Resort this is a really fabulous way to get lots of photos of your family with the characters without having to stand in line.
We tried it out for the first time this Easter, our party was made up of four adults our 13 year old son and our 9 month old niece, I was somewhat concerned that my son would be too old to enjoy it but as it’s something I’ve always wanted to do and we had the perfect excuse having the baby with us I went ahead and booked it.
It is definitely a good idea to pre book, as it does get very busy.
The phone number is 001 407 939 3463. I believe it was around $17 per adult and slightly less for children under 10. This location can accommodate special dietary needs (such as allergies to gluten or wheat, shellfish, soy, lactose or milk, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, or eggs). Special dietary needs can be accommodated if ordered at least 72 hours in advance Guests may request kosher meals by calling at least 24 hours in advance.
When you arrive you are first led to a stand where your party is assembled and your photo taken, I wish I’d known this before we went as I might have done something to my hair!
The breakfast was buffet style with masses of choice, everything from eggs, bacon, sausages and hash browns, to fresh fruits, yoghurts and a huge selection of pastries and doughnuts.
There was juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate all brought to the table by your servers.
You could visit the buffet table as many times as you liked though in reality we were so busy looking at the characters and taking photos we ate very little!
As well as Mickey and Minnie, we saw Chip and Dale, Pluto and Goofy. They came round the restaurant at least 4 or 5 times during breakfast and spent lots of time posing for photos with the children both young and old! They also danced around the restaurant to music and bubbles supplied by their accompanying cast members while all the guests wave their napkins in the air.
All in all it was a wonderful experience, even our teenager became a little “less cool” for the morning and really entered into the spirit of the occasion – and I have the photos to prove it!!
