Mickey is not married but his long term girlfriend is Minnie Mouse.
He has a pet dog called Pluto and one of his best friends is Donald Duck, so let' s check out a few facts about the characters who surround Mickey.
Minnie is a shortened version of her full length name - Minerva.
Minnie was created at the same time as Mickey Mouse and she too was originally voiced by Walt Disney, although after the first 12 months female actresses took over this role.
Like Mickey, Minnie made her film debut in the short film Steamboat Willie.
Minnie' s traditional attire is a red and white spotted dress (replicas of which are often worn by young visitors to the parks) with a matching red and white spotted bow between her ears. Like Mickey she wears yellow oversized shoes although hers have heels and are trimmed with red bows. Also like Mickey she wears white gloves over three fingers and one thumb
Minnie' s best friend is Daisy Duck.
Pluto is Mickeys pet dog and although many thing he is some sort of hound is officially described as a mixed breed dog.
Pluto was created in 1930 and was originally introduced as Minnie' s pet dog Rover I the short, animated film The Picnic.
Pluto is also known as Pluto the pup.
Pluto is one of Disney' s six major characters and is the only one with no human attributes, he does not walk upright, wear clothes or speak, although he has been known to speak for a very short time in the history of his character.
Pluto appeared with Mickey Mouse in the academy award winning film, Lend a Paw and also like Mickey appeared in the feature length film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Although Pluto wars no human clothing he always wears a collar. Originally red, in more modern cartoons it has become green.
Donald Duck was created after Mickey Mouse in 1934.
Donald Duck has appeared in more films than any other Walt Disney Film including Mickey Mouse!
Donald' s first film was in 1934 and was one of the Silly Symphony' s series, The Wise Little Hen.
The first film he appeared in with Mickey Mouse was Orphans Benefit.
Donald' s full name is Donald Fauntleroy Duck.
Donald has several relatives also appearing in Disney films. Scrooge Mc Duck his uncle. His nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie and Ludwig Von Drake his great uncle.
Donald' s regular costume is based on a sailor suit with blue beret trimmed with a black ribbon and a blue sailor top trimmed with a red bow (previously black)
Although Donald and Mickey are close friends there is some rivalry between them based on the fact that Donald is jealous of Mickeys status.
