Men in Black at Universal Studios
Florida Guide > Universal Parks
Or to give it it’s full title “Men in Black – Alien attack” is located in the World Expo Area of Universal Studios which is a great blend of futuristic and retro – it is categorised as an interactive thrill ride and has a height requirement of 42’ - It is located at the rear of the park and is easily one of the most popular rides in the park, it is definitely one of our family’s all time favourites!
This is an indoor ride that is mostly in the dark and the cars spin, sometimes quite violently. The six seater cars are configured to seat 3 riders up front with 3 behind but raised up with foot rests so that everybody gets a great view of the Aliens!
As you enter your six seater car it is up to you as a trainee agent to protect the World, from the Aliens that have escaped from a crashed Alien transporter ship in the streets of New York!!
As the name suggests the ride is based on the 1997 hit movie starring Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith – each rider in the car has their own laser gun and a gaming system that keeps your score as you chase the Alien bugs through the streets of New York and zap them as they appear from around every corner, beware of the bugs that will fire back – you’ll even see some riding in the cars beside you! There are over 120 species of Alien to be spotted and zapped with your laser guns – many created especially for this ride – keep a look out for the Alien with the head of Steven Spielberg!!
The outcome of the ride is based on your score, and there are multiple endings if you do really well you just might get promoted from trainee to a fully fledged ‘Men in Black’ agent - so for the sake of mankind please make sure you defeat the Aliens and don’t forget this is all in a days work for a Men in Black agent!
Tip: You seem to score more points by zapping the bugs in the head and chest, it’s also worth holding your finger continuously on the trigger as this seems to help rack up your score – I wish my kids had told me this before they whipped me for the umpteenth time! And don’t forget to hit the flashing red button on your vehicles console!
