Park Hopping Part 1

Florida Guide > Disney Parks

When people know we are going to Orlando for our holidays the next question is invariably, ' Will you be visiting Mickey? ' or, ' You' ll be doing all the theme parks then? ' . There is usually an abject look of horror when we reply in the negative!

Having travelled regularly to Orlando for more than twenty years we have ' Done Disney to death' and trips to Walt Disney World are usually reserved for special Disney experiences - we have done Back Stage Magic, Around the World at Epcot Segway tour, the fireworks desert party at Magic Kingdom, Mickeys Not so scary Halloween Party and Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party. Then there are also the special trips with grandchildren and friends who are first timers.

All that having been said, there is, now and again, that need for a Disney fix and we satisfy that with a ' park hopping day' usually just us girls, the men don' t ' do' Mickey Mouse!

To hop between more than one park on the same day you need to purchase a ticket with park hopping privileges - check out the Park Tickets website for all the different ticket combinations available.

If you have no intention of park hopping and simply purchase a base ticket, you can still change your mind and upgrade at the park ticket office.

Park hopping isn' t only for people who have visited Disney an endless number of times, it' s also great for people who have a limited time to spend at Walt Disney World. In peak periods it' s difficult to achieve a lot in one day but in off peak, with careful planning and lots of stamina, you can achieve loads.

Decide on what you definitely want to do and what you can afford to leave out, don' t get side tracked and stick to your plan. Of course, there will always be the unforeseen circumstances which means you have to change some things but if you have done your homework this won' t be a problem.

When leaving any park and traveling on to the next, there is no need to get your ticket authorized or stamped, the computer does it all for you and you simply present your ticket again at the next park.

You can use Walt Disney World transport between parks or you can use your own car, you only need pay for parking at the first park you visit, just hang on to your parking ticket!
