Animal Kingdom

Florida Guide > Disney Parks

From the minute you arrive you can feel the excitement grow, we were quite fortunate as when we were heading for the entrance, Mickey Mouse, Minnie, Donald Duck and most of the Disney characters were there to greet us along with many other people heading to the park. Once inside we collected a guide, as there is so much to pack your fun filled day.

One thing that is so evident in Animal Kingdom is the greenery, on very hot days it does become very humid, but don’t let this spoil the fun as you go looking for character autographs, the theme park shows and also the awesome rides.

With Characters are all over the park, you will find all your favorites and more from films such as Bugs Life, Lilo and Stitch, The Lion King and of course The Jungle Book.

Some of the rides/attractions here are some of the best Disney has to offer. Kilimanjaro Safaris takes you out in to the plains as you get up close to some of the amazing wild life. Lions, Hippos, Elephants, Giraffes and Rhinos can be found roaming in the mid day sun. You may fancy a cool down on the Kali River Rapids a water ride where you may come off wet through. We like the Tree of Life, the main centerpiece of the park where you can enter inside to watch It’s tough to be a Bugs, a site down show in 3D where anything can happen. And don’t forget Disney’s newest ride to the park, Expedition Everest a high-speed train adventure of turns and thrills as you head down the side of the mountain.

The entertainment continues as you can watch various shows and Mickey’s Jammin Jungle Parade (check your guide for the start times). The colorful parade that heads around the park full of your favorite characters dancing to music while you just stand and watch in amazement. One show that is not to be missed is the Festival of the Lion King, set in its own arena within the park, take your seat as the Disney Characters and cast perform songs from the Film as the storey unfolds into a show that will have you at the edge of your seat.

There are food outlets and restaurants around the park to fulfill your appetite, Restaurantosaurus is one where you can dine with the characters, Pizzifari as it sounds where freshly made Pizza is available, or you may fancy The Rainforest Café a family restaurant, where while you eat you can enjoy waterfalls, erupting volcano’s plus thunder and lighting. WOW what a meal this would be.

Animal Kingdom has a lot more to offer and much more to see and do, this theme park is a great day out for all the family but don’t forget to check the guide as you wont want to miss a thing.
