Escapeology Orlando (escape room)

Florida Guide > Other Florida

Are you looking for something different to do when you are in Orlando? If you like a good challenge then this is the place for you. The concept is to “escape” from a room within 60 minutes. You need to figure out how to open safes, look for keys and find unique clues and codes that will help you find your way out.

You must make reservations as there is a designated time slot for you and your group. Each room is private for your group so you don’t share with strangers. Check- in is quick and efficient. The facility was clean, modern and professionally done. The comfortable waiting room has some brain teasers and puzzles you can work on while you wait.

When you first enter your room your “game master” will explain how things work. You can receive three clues during the game and you can ask for them at any time. Our game master really helped us out and gave us the little push we needed. The staff was super friendly and helped us get through some of the challenging clues without giving too much away. I was amazed at the many details in the room. The rooms are decorated in a way that transports the participants into the theme of the particular game you are playing. There are different rooms you can try to escape from and they are all based on different themes. There are several ability levels and varying levels of difficulty. You pick the one you think suits your group. On our first trip we picked one that was just too high on the difficulty scale and we did not escape within the 60 minutes.

After the game is over, you return to the waiting room where you are given a bottle of water (you need it after all that work of trying to escape) and a bracelet with the name of the game on it. Some guests try and collect all the bracelets from the different games. The staff takes a complimentary group picture and sends it to you via e-mail. This makes a nice souvenir.

We had so much fun that we immediately booked another themed room and started playing that game within 15 minutes of finishing the other. We escaped from that one with only 16 seconds to spare. Since our first visit, we have returned 5 times and escaped from 3 of the rooms.

Escapeology is great for celebrating a special occasion and is a great way to spend time with your family and friends working as a team. . . Don’t try to play alone as you need the help of others to keep track of the clues.

The building and escape rooms are wheelchair accessible and there is plenty of parking.

If you want to try something different and exciting, you definitely have to visit Escapology. This game can become addictive.
