Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios

Florida Guide > Disney Parks

This wonderful show takes place on Sunset Boulevard in the Hollywood Hills Amphitheatre.

We’ve been going to Disney for quite a few years now but only saw this show for the first time last year, it was a huge mistake to leave it so long! It is now firmly on our list of “must-do’s” every time we visit.

You watch everybody’s favourite hero, Mickey, battle against the Disney villains in a lavish spectacular of dancing water, dramatic music, amazing animation, lasers, fireworks and a few surprises thrown in for good measure!

Although you get a good view from all the seats, you will get wet if you sit near the front, personally we like to sit in the middle section at any height.

There are also Fantasmic dinner packages available at the following restaurants.

Hollywood and Vine also on Hollywood Boulevard – an all you can eat buffet.

Hollywood Brown Derby again on Hollywood Boulevard - slightly more upmarket table service.

Mama Melroses Ristorante Italiano – cozy Italian with dishes “justa likea Mama used to makea!”

Occasionally these packages are extended to include Sci-Fi Dine-In and the '50s Prime Time Café – during peak times they also offer lunch packages. Just call 407 939 3463 to enquire and book.

When you book one of these packages will get reserved seating for the show, and they are always great seats, so if you were planning on eating at Hollywood Studios anyway it is worth booking one of these packages as it means you don’t have to arrive so early. During peak dates when there are two Fantasmic shows each evening, the packages are not available for the second show, however I believe this is because it is not necessary to have reserved seating.

Try and remember to take a sweatshirt or jacket when you go to watch this as there always seems to be quite a breeze in the amphitheatre and it can get chilly – and if you’ve decided to get there early to get a great seat, you can also use it as a cushion!

The seating is bench style and quite hard to sit on, although once the show starts you soon forget!

Tip: During the holidays and peak season, take advantage of the second showing of "Fantasmic!" It's usually much easier to get a seat.

Fun Fact: In the grand finale, 26 Disney characters cruise across the moat aboard a replica of the "Steamboat Willie" boat. At 80 feet long, it's larger than Christopher Columbus' Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria.
